September in Fatima

The children had been praying, fasting, and making every kind of sacrifice that they could think of to try to prevent souls from going to Hell. When September 13 came, crowds of people came to the Cova and begged the children to present their needs to the Mother of God for them. Lucia led the Rosary and the people responded. Near the end of the Rosary, there was a flash of light and shortly afterward, a globe of light appeared, and Our Lady stood above the oak tree. She asked that the people say the Rosary everyday to end the war and promised to perform a miracle during her final visit in October to prove that the apparitions were real. Their sacrifices were pleasing to God, she said. Lucia then presented as many of the petitions from the people as she could before Our Lady began to leave. She pointed to the globe of light moving eastward and many people were able to see it.
