Friday Night of Worship
Dan Briggs
After graduation from high school, Dan enlisted in the Army National Guard and attended infantry basic training and Airborne School at Ft. Benning. He continued his training at Ft. Bragg, as a Special Forces Medic. He served, and deployed, with the 19th Special Forces Group (National Guard), until he transitioned to active duty.
Dan was stationed in Ft. Bragg, with a special operations unit. He had multiple combat deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan, and North Africa. He was medically retired in 2015, from injuries sustained in combat, after 17 years of service.
He originally came to L.A. to work as a stuntman and military consultant, to help out a former teammate.

Saturday Main Conference
Fr. Michael Burbeck
Father Michael Burbeck was installed as the Pastor of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Cary, NC, in September of 2020. As the Pastor of this Parish, he enjoys serving the people and staff of St. Michael’s by creating a shared vision and supporting all to fulfill the mission of discipleship to Jesus in every aspect of parish life.
In July of 2022 Fr. Michael was officially appointed by Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama as the Vicar General of the Diocese of Raleigh. Through this role, Fr. Michael assists with direct oversight of the Office of Divine Worship and the Office of Child and Youth Protection. The Office of the Vicar General also provides administrative support to the Vicar for Priests and to the Office of the Permanent Diaconate.
In his spare time he enjoys golfing, reading, and listening to music, especially sacred and classical music.

Sonja Corbitt
Sonja Corbitt is a Catholic author and speaker who has produced several multimedia Bible studies, including Unleashed, Fearless, Exalted, and Just Rest. She also created the LOVE the Word Bible study method. Corbitt is host of the Sacred Healing 12:30 podcast and the Evangelista Bible Study show on CatholicTV. She has decades of experience and training from Holy Apostles College and Seminary, the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, the John Paul II Healing Center, the Encounter School of Ministry, and Unbound. A Carolina native who was raised as a Southern Baptist, Corbitt attended Mitchell College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary center in Jackson, Tennessee, before converting to Catholicism. She has since served as director of religious education at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Gallatin, Tennessee, and executive director of Risen Radio in Lebanon, Tennessee. She lives in Tennessee with her husband, Bob, and their two sons.
Msgr. James Shea
Monsignor James P. Shea was inaugurated in 2009 as the sixth president of the University of Mary, succeeding Sister Thomas Welder, O.S.B., who had served as president for 31 years.
Msgr. Shea grew up on a dairy farm near Hazelton, North Dakota. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a licentiate in philosophy as a Basselin Fellow in the School of Philosophy at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, later studying theology at the Gregorian and Lateran universities in Rome. Upon completion of his seminary formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Msgr. Shea was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Bismarck in 2002.
Sr. Madeline Rose Kraemer
The Church from the beginning of the Order has called Dominicans to teach the Word of God and to emulate the Lord alone in seeking the good of souls. St. Dominic wished his followers to speak always to God or of God. By our profession of the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, we seek a life hidden with Christ in God, who first loved us. Out of this dedication comes our love of the world for its salvation and the up building of the Church. Our work of Christian education gives life and direction to the consecration we make. By our consecrated life we teach the way to holiness and joy.
The journey to the convent and perseverance in Christ’s call to be his Spouse is a grace-filled experience. While each young woman’s story is unique, there are common elements in their desire to give their lives to Christ and his Church. The following stories, written by our sisters, describe God’s work in their lives as He revealed his Divine Plan and as they responded to his call.
Fr. Robert Spitzer
Fr. Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D. is President of the Magis Center of Reason and Faith and the Napa Institute. He was President of Gonzaga University from 1998 to 2009, where he increased the student body by 75%, oversaw the construction of 20 new facilities, and raised $200+ million for scholarships and buildings. He is the author of nineteen books, including the award-winning books New Proofs for the Existence of God and Science, Reason, and Faith: Discovering the Bible. He has also authored many scholarly articles on faith and science, metaphysics, and happiness and ethics.
Father Spitzer has his own weekly EWTN television show, Fr. Spitzer’s Universe. He has appeared on the Larry King Show (in discussion with Stephen Hawking and Deepak Chopra), the History Channel, the Today Show, and a PBS series. He started seven institutes dedicated to faith and reason and happiness/purpose in life. He was a professor at Georgetown University, Seattle University, and Gonzaga University and was awarded the teaching medal at both Georgetown University and Seattle University. He has held two major academic chairs—the Frank Shrontz Endowed Chair in Professional Ethics (Seattle University) and the John L. Aram Chair of Business Ethics (Gonzaga University) and has won multiple academic and professional awards, including honorary doctorates, the De Smet Medal (Gonzaga University’s highest award) and the Aquinas Medal (for Catholic philosophical scholarship).
Fr. Augustine Wetta
Father Augustine Wetta is the author of PRAY. THINK. ACT. , THE EIGHTH ARROW and HUMILITY RULES (which has been translated into five languages and sold over 100,000 copies!). He is a monk of Saint Louis Abbey in Saint Louis, Missouri, where he teaches high school and coaches rugby. He has degrees from Oxford University, Rice University, and Middlebury College. Father Augustine grew up on a tropical island, where he learned to surf and was nearly eaten by a shark. He has also worked as a professional juggler, beach patrol lifeguard and archaeologist. During his spare time, he raises carnivorous plants, carpenter ants, and makes armor.
