The Mass takes its name from the Introit “Drop down dew, ye heavens above, and let the clouds rain down the just; let the earth bud forth a Savior.” This ancient Advent tradition is said in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary and illumined only by candlelight. As the sun rises and gradually lightens the dark, the faithful experience the symbolism of Christ the Light of the World, a profound connection to the Incarnation of Christ. Following the Mass, a light breakfast will be offered in the basement of the church.
